WMA MARKS INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY
The World Medical Association congratulates nurses around the world on the occasion of International Nurses Day tomorrow (May 12).
Dr. Xavier Deau, President of the WMA, said: 'Physicians in every country will join us in celebrating the value of nurses in caring for patients. The WMA is proud of the teamwork that exists between physicians and nurses on the ground and at global level between the WMA and the International Council of Nurses.
'We cannot emphasize enough the importance of nursing as a vital resource for health care around the world and the need for enough nurses so that high quality care can be provided for all patients. This requires an acceptable level of staffing, good working conditions and fair pay. International Nurses Day is an opportunity for us all to thank all nurses everywhere'.
